HEY! Traditional is BACK but in a more refined, upscale way. European influence is HUGE right now. Soft curves, wallpaper, glamorous lights, rich colors. Bedrooms are a place where you can afford to go bolder with your designs. I LOVE this bedroom I put together. I paired an upholstered curved bed with a monochromatic rug. The bed is VERY affordable – $700 at Joss and Main.
In my experience, the one key element that most bedrooms lack – architectural interest. I understand that not everyone can afford to add board and batten or planked walls or even vault a ceiling, but you do need one WOW factor in a room, and this wallpaper?! It’s absolutely incredible. While the Morris & Company paper IS expensive, it’s SO worth it. Trust me. I’ve used this brand of paper in my own home, and it’s a show stopper. Wallpaper and it’s application is much better than it used to be and should you ever change your mind, it’s easier to remove. If you’re worried, limit it to one wall, behind the bed for instance is a great way to create a stunning architectural moment!
Jewel tones are stunning, and in small doses, they add a rich layer to a room. This chair, comfortable and affordable, is stunning. It has classic lines that will never go out of style.
Overall, a bedroom CAN be affordable and beautiful with touches of modern and traditional to create a memorable and cozy space! Shop here!
