- I USUALLY GO AT LEAST 3-4” OUT FROM THE WINDOW CASING, DEPENDING ON ROOM AVAILABLE AND ALSO THE TOTAL EXPANDABLE LENGTH OF THE ROD. GOING OUT 13” FROM THE CASING (AS SHOWN IN THE FIRST IMAGE) IS A BIT OVERKILL AS IT WILL REQUIRE GREAT PANEL WIDTH.
- THE HEIGHT ABOVE THE FRAME DEPENDS ON THE CURTAIN PANEL LENGTH, SO HEIGHT IS DETERMINED BY PANELS. TO ACHIEVE THIS, ASSEMBLE THE ROD AND PUT THE PANEL ON, HOLD THE BRACKET IN PLACE AND ROD IN PLACE WITH THE PANEL SO YOU CAN NAIL THE CORRECT HEIGHT.USUALLY IDEAL TO HAVE TWO PEOPLE TO DO THIS JOB. MEASURE TWICE, DRILL ONCE!
- MAKE BRACKETS ARE HUNG LEVEL. OFTEN TIMES CEILINGS AND FLOORS AREN’T LEVEL SO MEASURING FOR LEVEL OFF OF THIS IS A GAMBLE (EVEN IN NEW CONSTRUCTION – I’VE LEARNED THE HARD WAY). I WOULD RECOMMEND USING A LASER LEVEL OR ACTUAL LEVEL.
