Let’s talk powder room design. This is a small room and a huge opportunity for high impact at low cost.
Architectural details are something I love and that can customize your home BUT if you can’t use power tools (I use a drill only, since I’ve had several incidents with almost chopping off my fingers), then try wallpaper. Low investment for a high rate of return! Such impact. If you don’t like pattern, consider a natural texture like this. Textural wallpaper will stand the test of time, it adds dimension and beauty to a space without overpowering.
When it comes to lighting: go big or go home! PLEASE stay out of the big box stores, browse online, find something unique that fits in your budget and GO FOR IT. Consciously or not, people will register that there’s something unique about your room. Plumbing also matters (are you seeing a theme here?! every element matters!). Choose a gorgeous faucet, and there are just so many options now, you can find something beautiful and in your budget. In terms of the vanity, browse online! Custom cabinetry is not an option for everyone. My favorite trick: find a vanity with real marble or quartz as a top and a backsplash, and when you receive the vanity, inevitably the hardware will be garbage. Take tome to swap out the hardware for something you love – you simply have to find something with the same center to center measurement to avoid drilling any new holes. Often times, I find a vanity I love and build the room around it, but honestly anything can be a spring board for design. Settle on a pretty mirror, something that doesn’t over power your vanity. If you use a 24″ wide vanity, don’t do a 24″ wide mirror! Do something smaller. Scale always matters. Lastly, it’s those finishing touches: artwork, accessories and towels. The icing on the cake always makes it taste better. To shop this design and so much more click on the SHOP MY INSTAGRAM and click on the image, it will take you to LTK to my shop many free designs.
