The exterior of our home was in need of a new paint job, so we also thought it to be a good idea to freshen up the curb appeal along with it. Choosing new colors for the exterior of a home is hard! So many choices! And then, what do you put on the porch and where? What colors match brick? So, we called Tammy. She has such a great way of making you fall back in love with your space by using encouraging words and making the process seem so simple. She took into consideration my likes and dislikes with color and design and never seemed to rush the project. She also worked well and stayed within the “style” of the home….not trying to make our come something it wasn’t. She quickly offered up some suggestions that we both loved! In the end, our whole exterior received a face lift that is so beautiful and up-to-date. Each day that I pull into my driveway I love it!

2) Did you find hiring NI to be beneficial? Why or Why not?Yes, I did. Trying to decide on color on my own was difficult. I have brick on the exterior so matching/complimenting that was a big stumbling block for me. I feel that a home really does need to be a place you love. How many times have I thought I could do something on my own, only to be disappointed with the color and way it never came together. Seeking out NI was just the peace of mind that I needed.
3) Would you use NI again in the future?Yes, I would. Because our exterior project went so smoothly, we are now looking to update our whole main level..... kitchen, family room and foyer. These are places I spend most of my day in so I want them to be a place I absolutely love. I wouldn't trust just anyone with these spaces, so NI is my place to call!
4) What would you tell others who are considering hiring NI for their project?We all question ourselves when it comes to the design of our home. Sometimes that questioning leads to never completing the project! New Purpose Interiors takes the guessing game out of the equation. Working with Tammy is so easy and is a pleasure. She really will work with your style and create a plan for you that you both with love. Why wait? Fall in love with your home again!

Tammy decorated my lake condo for me in a very prompt time frame with lots of great bargains and great looks. She listens carefully and is able to translate your idea of the look you want into actual furnishings and accessories. Best of all, she is a delight to work with, lots of fun, and totally fair and honest in her dealings. I can’t wait to do another project with her!

I live in a small Chicago bungalow style home and I wanted to update my bedroom and living room. Let me just say, I am terrible at decorating and I usually describe my living space as a young 20 yr old bachelor apartment, and I am a 42 year old woman! So, hiring NI to help me recreate my space was a no brainer. Since this was a smaller project and the schedule I kept was hectic at the time, Tammy was able to capture my vision and “tell my story” in every detail of my room virtually! Yes, you heard me correctly. NI and I worked together on my project from beginning to end virtually. We worked off of pictures, dimensions of the room, renderings, etc. It was a perfect working relationship for my schedule at the time and size of the project. I wanted to love the rooms I spend most of my time in and NI was able to do just that for me.

2) Did you find hiring NI to be beneficial? Why or Why not?It was incredibly helpful, since I am terrible with putting a room together and NI knew what suggestions to make to based on a few pieces I liked in my house already.

I cannot say enough about Tammy! Last January I bought a 5,000 square foot home in the D.C. area and didn’t know where to begin. Being a business owner myself, I did not have the time to dedicate to such a huge project. I had heard about New Purpose Interiors through a friend and reached out to Tammy. She immediately reached out to me and we started to the process. She was in Wisconsin and hadn’t seen the house in person, but I was able to provide her with the photos of each of the rooms and that was enough! We worked together and started on the paint color for each of the rooms. I loved her choices! From there she provided me with “design boards” for each room that included the furniture, paint color, carpets, light fixtures and design items. The boards gave me a good idea of what the room would look like at the end. Using this method she was able to design and furnish over 12 rooms! I approved each and every item and when I wasn’t convinced she immediately sent me options. She was very responsive to my “style” and I felt that she listened to my concerns. Then came the second part. She ordered all the furniture, carpets and light fixtures and then came to my home with an assistant to receive the packages and place everything in the various rooms. With her rental car she and her assistant would go out to various stores to complete the picture with all the bedding, matching towels, curtains, blinds, bathroom cabinets, plants and smaller items to complete the picture. She even knew how to use a drill and mounted the blinds and curtains! If something didn’t work out, she took care of all the returns. I just watched her work and get the job done. I cannot say enough about Tammy and New Purpose Interiors. I highly recommend her and her company. Thank you, Tammy!!!

2) Did you find hiring NI to be beneficial? Why or Why not?Absolutely! I just would not have had the time to dedicate to such a large project. I also did not have knowledge of what's available "out there" and even where to begin looking for the items I needed.

purchased a home in Lake Geneva and converted it into a vacation rental. As a former gangster hangout in the 1930’s, the home was packed with historical charm and had a beautiful lakefront location, however, the bookings weren’t as strong as I would have liked.

I felt the layout didn’t flow and the space wasn’t being utilized properly but I didn’t know how to fix it. I had heard so many good things about New Purpose Interiors and had seen some photos of her work and decided to reach out to Tammy Schmidt to see if she could help.

Tammy is extremely easy to work with. She has an incredible eye for style and has impeccable taste. What I loved most about working with Tammy is that she really seemed to understand my needs and worked within my budget to create a look that blew me away. She methodically mixed different types of textures and colors, creating beautiful and comfortable spaces.

She utilized much of the furniture and art that I already had and brought in new pieces that pulled it all together. She spent an entire day shopping for rugs, pillows, throw blankets, as well as lamps, plants and other unique little items and pulled together a cohesive look throughout. The home ended up with a warm and welcoming feeling while staying true to its history.

My bookings have gone through the roof as a result of her work. I am now able to display photos on the vacation rental sites that capture the attention of potential renters and make my house stand out from the competition. I’m obsessed with Tammy’s work and now realize that my own home is in desperate need of being Tammified! Tammy exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend her to everyone.
